You’ve may of never heard the phrase “email marketing” before, but its a great chance you have seen it. It’s all over! Well known companies have probably sent you a message telling you about a product. This is email marketing in its purest form.
Does this sound like something you would want to use? Granting that it is, then continue reading.
Show subscribers a way out. Put an “unsubscribe” link in your email or on your website which allows them to remove themselves from your list. You should also set up your list to cull itself by removing subscribers after a particular number of messages prompt no response or action from the recipient.
This prevents your emails from becoming annoying to disinterested subscribers and preserves your image.
Treat each reader like a relationship. Ask in the first email for permission to send more. In the second email, tell them what discounts, products and services they can expect in future emails. In the third email and after, follow through with the content you promised to provide them with.
Include lots of useful information in all your messages.
Don’t just fill them up with information about your products. Include things that will truly help your customers. Provide your readers with special content that they cannot get on your regular website. In addition, include an exclusive offer for your products. Send greetings for holidays or a personalized message for birthdays for instance.
Be sure that your landing page lives up to the customer’s expectations.
The subscriber is obviously interested in your product if they have clicked on the link in your email. You do not want them to be disappointed by clicking on the link, and finding the page to be other than what they thought it would be.
Strategically plan when your emails will go out. People do not like getting emails at inconvenient times, especially if it’s something that they have to act on quickly. Be considerate by making your offers convenient and easy for people to take advantage of, and you will have more sales than you otherwise would.
After countless times of encountering email marketing, you finally know what it is. Put simply, it’s using the medium of emails to send messages either current customers or future customers for the sole purpose of marketing to them. Now that you know what it is, make use of it in your own emails!
